C.J. Ellisson writes and speaks about erotica. Having written several Paranormal Erotica pieces she had an idea for a contemporary piece. That piece became Vanilla on Top, One couples love story about empowering yourself in and out of the bedroom, and having that strength open you to a loving relationship. It also deals with what happens when careers and love cross paths.
VANILLA ON TOPA Walk on the Wild Side Novel
by C.J. Ellisson
Entangled Publishing/Brazen January 10th
Determined to leave her wallflower tendencies at the door, Heather Pierce attends a speed dating event pretending to be someone new. Someone dominant. Little does she know, the larger than life man whose world she rocks is incognito himself, and he isn’t about to let the mysterious vixen slip through his grasp.
Fools for Luv: Tony, did you ever see yourself as a allowing a woman to take control in the bedroom? And Heather how do feel about a guy who's willing to share control once in a while?
Tony: Honestly, I never thought about it. My previous girlfriends were always eager to please, but never quit knew what they wanted in the bedroom. It was refreshing finding a woman who knew what she wanted and wasn't afraid to ask for it.
Heather: Now that I've experienced the thrill with Tony, I can't imagine ever going back to the doormat I was before. If partners can't be equal in the bedroom, are they truly equal anywhere in their lives?
Fools for Luv: Heather, your friend Carla made reference to becoming a dominatrix, is that anywhere in your future?
Heather: LOL! No way! I'm pretty sure Carla was teasing me. I might like the empowerment of dressing up in leather and telling my lover what I want, but I'm not ready to take on a whole new lifestyle, nor do I desire to make a lover feel like they have to take orders from me or the relationship is over. Maybe it's my own ignorance, but I've always pictured a dominatrix as a punishing sort of woman, one who enjoys the subjugation of her partner--and that is not me.
Fools for Luv: Tony, what are your plans now that you're unemployed?
Tony: I may not be in the corporate grind any more, but I'm not unemployed. I plan on working on my apartment buildings and earning my livlihood that way. Good thing I've got plenty of money in the bank, too.
Fools for Luv: Tony and Heather, what is the most romantic thing each of you has done for the other?
Heather: I can't decide if it was Tony leaving me breakfast with my doorman or him buying me the best camera I've ever owned.
Tony: Is buying a camera romantic? *shrugs* I thought the most romantic thing I'd ever done was the night I made love to you when you wore your boots to bed. Heather: Oh! *blushes* That certainly was a special night. I hadn't though of it as a romantic moment per se, but it ranks up there as one of the best nights of my life. Tony: *kisses Heather on cheek* I think that picnic you prepared is one of the most romantic things anyone has ever done for me.
Fools for Luv: Are you planning anything special for Valentine's day?
Tony: *wiggles eyebrows* How about a trip to the Poconos? I bet those round beds and champagne glass tubs would be a blast.
Heather: Sounds good to me!
Lightning Round:
Heather:
To help Tony get a thumbs up for V-Day:
Milk Chocolate or Dark? Dark.
Le Miz or Phantom? Le Miz.
Mink or Leather? Leather! I saw lots of things at the leather store I'd like to try...
Silk or Cotton? Silk. That night with the boots *shiver* Tony had on silk underwear. They felt incredible.
Undies or commando? Oh, wow! I bet commando would make a nice surprise.
And, Tony:
Milk Chocolate or Dark? Either one, as long as it's wrapped around a strawberry and perched between Heather's lips.
CD or Ipod? Whatever is fine with me.
Boxers or Briefs? Boxer briefs, the best of both worlds.
Porsche or Jaguar XK, Range Rover or Maybach? I couldn't care less. I've got three cars and don't drive much living in the city.

Wow, Vanilla On Tops looks stea-mie! Thanks for participating and donating this great giveaway to the event. Will have to tell my gal pals to get their Vanilla on this weekend.
ReplyDeleteI have Vanilla On Top and cannot wait to meet Tony, he sounds yummy!!
ReplyDeleteHe sounds pretty yummy.
DeleteVanilla On Top is a great book with characters you'll fall for!!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't kick him out of bed for eating crackers.
DeleteTony sounds like great guy!! I think I would like to see more woman taking charge in some books. I have read a few like that but not a lot. Thanks CJ!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice that they have scruples.
DeleteThanks all for commenting.
I bought VoT on release day great book!
ReplyDeleteThat's great. Glad you enjoyed it.
DeleteVanilla on Top sounds so hot!!! I'll have to pick it up :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for commenting Traci!
DeleteLoved the interview! You asked some great questions. This was an awesome book!
ReplyDeleteThanks for commenting and your kind words!
DeleteThey're so cute! I forgot about him leaving her breakfast. Yeah that was pretty darn sweet.
ReplyDeleteIt is sweet. My husband makes me breakfast in bed everyday, so I think of it as a requirement. :-) Thanks for coming by!
DeleteAwesome reveals into Tony and Heather's character. Tony is definitely a keeper, and I'm glad to know that there's going to be more to their story one day.
ReplyDeleteHe's a nice boy! And a very naughty boy too! Thanks!
DeleteI love unexpected humor! I expect a dark story or romance but when they throw in humor and I giggle - then im hooked (:
ReplyDeleteI love a good unexpected laugh in a story. I like when characters do things that may be awkward for them. It make the character more believable because we all have those "I can't believe I just..." moments. Your book looks great. Thanks for the contest.
ReplyDeleteSounds great.... thanks for the great giveaway!!
ReplyDeletegayle2b74@gmail.com
Isn't Cj, I mean aren't Tony and Heather great fun!
ReplyDeleteI've purchased this book and I'm looking forward to reading it soon. Thanks for sharing the interview. I love learning more about the authors I read and their books.
ReplyDeleteTo answer the question: I enjoy reading about situations that seem larger then life, but at the same time realistic. I like to read honest and humorous stories. Love seeing the girl that doesn't fit the "Perfect 10" persona get the uber-sexy guy. Like seeing the guy that doesn't think he's uber-sexy, get the girl of his dreams.
ReplyDeleteWhat I don't like reading are extremely whiny characters. Or characters that pretend to be confident "alpha" type characters and then give in to the situation. I mean come on! You either don't take any crap or your a doormat not both.
Not a big fan of whiners in my "bedroom fantasy" reading either. Thanks for coming by!
DeleteI agree with Josette. Whiny characters grate on my nerves and fake out characters make the story feel off.
ReplyDeleteI like characters that are believable and realistic.
Being the voracious reader that I am, I enjoy different scenarios. As long as there is romance involved I'm in!
There are enough whiners in real life! Thanks for commenting!
DeleteI'd love to see less stubbornness. It gets really old. I don't necessarily want the wilting wallflower, but the impossible to deal with Amazon warrior is hard to handle. Let's aim for a middle ground - strong, independent and able to determine her own limits.
ReplyDeleteI don't like stupid stubbornness - just for the sake of creating an obstacle. Good point!
Deleteright now I am just enjoying whatever book I pick up. I love paranormal, erotic, BDSM. It took me a long time to realize this is what I wanted to read, I have an endless to be read pile. I love it.
ReplyDeleteYou are living in the right time then! Thanks!
DeleteThank you! Great event for readers and writers!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteHmmm. I always want to read more steamy scenes in what I read. Can't think of much I'd like to see less of. It takes lots of elements to put together a great story. Glad to have found your books!
ReplyDeleteMore STEAMY! yay!
DeleteVanilla on Top sounds awesome!! I definitely have to get this one! The characters sound great too. I want less love triangles in books. I don't mind them when there's a reason, but I hate when they are there just because!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean. There are elements that become popular and then EVERYTHING has to have them. In this story BDSM is an important element but lately everyone is into BDSM - I expect the next Girl Scout Handbook to have a chapter on tying up boyscouts!
DeleteCan't wait to read this one!
ReplyDeleteAnd with the wonder of the internet we don't have to wait! YAY!!! Thanks
Deletelooks like a steamy read!!
ReplyDeleteLets see, what would I like more/less of??? Well, I am still relatively new to this genre so it is taking some getting used to. I have my own feelings about the spanking or any kind of "punishment" so I guess I am not to into the dominance aspect. That may change. I find I don't enjoy a book as much if there is that going on. I don't quite get the need for more than 3 people in a relationship. I mean, I don't mind reading about M/M/F, just more than that. Thank you for the giveaway.
ReplyDeletecmucha319@yahoo.com
Thanks for your open an honest remarks!
DeleteI really enjoy the Dom/Sub relationships but can do without reading menage books myself. VoT was an excellent book and I cannot wait for more to come from this series!
ReplyDeleteWhatever turns us on! Thanks for sharing your ideas. Steph
DeleteSo glad to see so many people involved with this topic. Glad to see people owning their needs and desires! Steph
ReplyDeleteThat was prefect. It sounded just like them. This book is amazing EVERYONE has to meet Tony!!!!
ReplyDeleteWow! I have never seen a character interview before! Very refreshing and interesting!
