The most foolish thing I've done for love is moved across the country to be with a guy. It didn't turn out well.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the awesome hop!!
Drastic, but not necessarily foolish. We are who we are because of the experiences we've had.
DeleteI can just imagine, Elizabeth, the horrors of love. :-)
DeleteLove the blog and this hop. Can't wait to see what else you have in store for us.
ReplyDeleteThe funniest thing I ever did for love was pay a classmate $5 to cut a picture out of the office poster of the boy I liked when I was in high school. lol
miztik_rose@yahoo.com
Too funny. I have cut people out of pictures for other people. Once I left in a hand on someone's shoulder by mistake and everyone noticed.
DeleteThat is funny Mary, thx for participating.
DeleteI wore 4 inch heels and a catholic school girl outfit and waited for my hubby to come home from work and instead of coming alone he brought friends lol It was so embarrassing. The guys thought it was hilarious. Apparently he texted me but I didn't check my phone. So now I'm pretty good about checking my phone. Thank for organizing this hop!
ReplyDeletekaylyndavis1986@yahoo.com
They probably think he has the most amazing wife. They are probably all so envious and think his sex life is SO much better than theirs is. Be sure to check out Tara Sivec's story "Love and a Little Plaid Skirt" on the 14th!
DeleteGreat story, thx Kaylyn.
DeleteFoolish thing I did for love was accepting a marriage proposal from my ex of two years after we were split up for 3 months after he found out I was having the time of my life, he wanted me back and I caved. Six months later, and after all the planning I chickened out and left him, for good!
ReplyDeleteWell, if it helped you get to the better choice than it was time well spent.
DeleteWow, that is crazy, but sometimes we have to go through so much to get where we need to be.
DeleteI used a guys best friend to get closer to said guy... ended up I forgot about said guy and dated his best friend until we finally called it quits and went our seperate ways.... Great giveaway!!!
ReplyDeleteangelalove40@gmail.com
Wow, that's so interesting. I would never have though of that. Thanks for sharing.
DeleteI wrote a secret love letter to my middle school crush!
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Leanne
As long as it stayed a secret. Right? It did stay a secret?
Deletei haven't been in love.
ReplyDelete:-(
DeleteAfter 23 years of marriage, I can't remember :)
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean.
Deleterofl got married on the spur of the moment almost 27 years ago.
ReplyDeletescrtsbpal at yahoo dot com
If you're still together then no so foolish after all! And, the stuff of movie scripts - you're living one!
DeleteI fell for a gay guy. It was high school, so my gay-dar hadn't quite kicked in yet. He's my best friend now, though. :-D
ReplyDeleteAquarianDancer at gmail dot com
Yikes! At least he knew it and didn't come out after you were dating. Or married.
DeleteI got my boyfriend's name tattooed on me at 18...two weeks before we broke up. Of course we're married now (going on 11 years!) but I'd recommend to our kids to maybe wait before something so permanent ;)
ReplyDeleteWow! Congratulations on your marriage!
DeleteI let go of my meant to be out of anger
ReplyDelete:-(
Deletehmmmm....i flew from my hometown to the new town he lived in to go to his Senior prom.
ReplyDeletekim86004 at gmaildotcom
If you had fun then it wasn't foolish. I have gone to weddings or parties where later I wondered why I had even been invited. We all travel somewhere for a reason that may not be brilliant in retrospect - but it's what we make of the trip that counts.
DeleteI snuck out of my house and spent three days at a hotel with my love...very irresponsible!
ReplyDelete=)
Mary
Oh my! I bet you got grounded!
Deletesang for him..lol
ReplyDeleteThat always sounds so romantic in a book.
DeleteWell I drove hundreds of miles to visit a guy I barely knew just to see if we had a chance at love. We didn't, but it was a fun trip nonetheless!
ReplyDeletemestith@gmail.com
Hey, if you had a good trip then it was meant to be!
DeleteI actually took German language classes so I could impress the foreign exchange student. Didn't quite work out, but we became friends and that was enough for me.
ReplyDeleteLearning another language for ANY reason is never foolish.
DeleteI had a long distance relationship for years! That was pretty crazy and hard! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI bet you learned a lot about yourself and what you wanted for a relationship.
Deletethanks for the contest
ReplyDeleteforettarose@yahoo.com
You are very welcome. Thank YOU (all of you) for coming by to enter.
Deletei'd write poems and letters :)
ReplyDeleteThanks
We call the people that do that authors. Think of all the classics - written for love. You're a classic!
Deletesneaking out of the house in the middle of the night and driving to the beach! I was only 16.
ReplyDeleteOh, did you have a bondfire? We had plenty of those, loved them. Thanks for the visit, Sharon.
DeleteThe only thing I can think of is that I snuck out of the house. Which wasnt that easy to do since my window wouldnt open and I had to sneak past my dad in the other room to go out the front door. But I made it! LOL
ReplyDeleteThanks!
-Amber
Probably not the best strategy!
DeleteI would give my husband the 12 years he waited patiently for me to realise I was in love with him.
ReplyDeleteAww, that's so sweet.
DeleteFoolish... Oh man hubby and I were troublemakers thats for sure when we were dating(High School Sweethearts)... Sneaking into the house past my curfew, parties, backseat moments in the middle of nowhere... I was 4 months a long when we got married me 19 him 20...in Beaufort, SC by a JP... After 14 years together almost 10 years of marriage we still do foolish things but normally for the entertainment of our two boys 9 & 3.
ReplyDeleteThanks
j.m.platt83@gmail.com
Love Beaufort! Glad you two have made it!
DeleteHmmm...too many things to list, unfortunately. But the worst was getting married at 15. Didn't last, of course.
ReplyDeleteTCuevas@iccable.com
That's a little young, yes. But we knew EVERYTHING when we were 15 didn't we? I know I thought I did.
DeleteStayed at the college I was in instead of transferring to one that would have been better for my degree.
ReplyDeleteYeah, we do stuff like that.
DeleteI sold everything I owned to move to another state by him and it didn't work out so I never moved.
ReplyDeletewendy_pogrant@yahoo.com
I guess the silver lining would have to be that you started back in with a clean slate. And, probably without any clutter!
DeleteWell he came to my grandma's house at 1 am asking for ice and I let him in and well that's all I'll say about that. And it's crazy if you understand that my grandma is strictly old school European and was a few feet away lol
ReplyDeleteAt One AM!
DeleteSwimming naked in a lake. I don't like bugs, so didn't enjoy it very much.
ReplyDeleteOh, I will swim in the ocean at night, but I don't like swimming in lakes at night. I've only swam once in the buff!
DeleteGet engaged after one week and married after two months! We are still happily living our Fairytale 13 years later!
ReplyDeleteSassychassy333 at gmail dot com
That is awesome, fairy tales rock!
DeleteQuit college so I could be with him at night
ReplyDeleteMegan, did it work out?
DeleteNever have either, 61 and single
ReplyDeleteWow! Tracy, as long as you are happy, who you are with or not with is not all that defines you. Thank you for visiting.
DeleteFoolish things I have done in the name of love- Well, when I was in college my twin sister and I traded dates at the last minute to go to a dance. The guys never knew what hit them and we never told them different. Great fun
ReplyDeleteJWIsley(at)aol(dot)com
If it was fun and you got away with it - not foolish really. But fun!
DeleteAlso innocuous.
DeleteIt wasn't harmful or dangerous!
The most foolish thing I have done for love was get married to the wrong man! Always wait for the right man!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the contest!
bluebirdsub24 at gmail dot com
That is something to put on a needlepoint pillow or a sampler. Wish it was something people did not go through so often.
DeleteThe craziest thing I did was meet a guy I played World of Warcraft. He flew into town one weekend to meet me and I ended up quitting my job and moving out of state two days later. We've been married 4 years and things are amazing. So sometimes you just to go with it.
ReplyDeleteL' amour fou (is that right? ) Crazy love! Thanks for coming by.
DeleteMoving in with my boyfriend right after I graduated high school and not going to college, even though I was one of the top graduates of my class!
ReplyDeletemamamoss08(at)hotmail(dot)com
Oh that's hard, bur college is not a sure path to greatness. More often than not being your best is. College when your a bit older is a much better experience. Never too late! Thanks for visiting.
DeleteI don't think I have ever done anything foolish for love. I guess that is why I don't have a Valentine.
ReplyDeletethompsonem3 at aol dot com
But you are confident! Thanks!
DeleteI dressed up in a sexy outfit to wait for my boyfriend to come home but he came home with friends.
ReplyDeletemythic021@gmail.com
As I said above that guys friends were probably really jealous! Thanks for rcommenting!
DeleteActually, I'm not from the US, but I dare to enter since I'm coming to the USA in April. So if I win, I can give my hotel address (2 weeks stay).
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Adila (from Azerbaijan)

DeleteI think I need a more permanent address and will be shipping immediately. My own plans don't allow me to hang on to things and hit a narrow window. Sorry.
DeleteFlew from Florida to Houston for a dinner date.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the amazing giveaway!
elizabeth @ bookattict . com
I think that sounds all jet setterish! Thanks
DeleteI gave up my dreams and friends for his, and when it ended I was alone. Now I keep my dreams and friends and know I can support his and still keep mine alive.
ReplyDeleteLearning something like that makes us stronger! Thanks. Steph
DeleteTook piano lessons to impress him. Found out I have absolutely no talent for music.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great giveaways.
Sue
Saschwager@juno.com
But you learned about yourself. I think that's brave. Thanks, Steph
DeleteI guess the usual teenage crushing on a guy stuff like staring at him all the time, writing his last name with my first on a scratch pad, and dreaming impossible thoughts. Sorry, I'm not one to put myself out there much.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway opportunity.
We all did those crazy things and it's the very stuff of romance!! Thanks fo rcommenting.
DeleteI really wouldn't call it foolish now, but back then when I did it????maybe a bit foolish! I used to pick up my best friend from work (i had a car she didn't) and while I would wait for her to come out of the office I would see this really cute guy walk across thre parking lot everyday he was there. So one day I whistled at him to get his attention-I think it worked 'cause 23 yrs later we have 4 kids and have been married for almost 17 yrs.
ReplyDeleteThat's taking initiative! Thanks for commenting!
DeleteMoved across state lines 8> Bleh
ReplyDeleteApparently, that didn't work out so well. But it probably made you a stronger person! ? Thanks for sharing.
DeleteHoly cow! This is Some Contest! And all for love. Isn't that fantastic? I'm a romance junkie, I admit it. Regency, Western, Paranormal, Suspense, you name it. If it has romance in it, it's for me. I enjoy the happily-ever-afters in romantic stories...they make me feel good.
ReplyDeleteThanks, I think most of this whole side of publishing is about LOVE. Love is the counter balance of all the rest of the world.
Deletei don't know that I have ever done something foolish for love. I tend to be more restrained in that area.
ReplyDeleteAntane
I think that's great too! Thanks for entering.
DeleteMost foolish thing I did for love was write a love letter and make a tape of love songs to go with it ;)
ReplyDeleteOh that's so sweet!
DeleteI've never really been in love before in lust a few to many times though.
ReplyDeleteNothing wrong with that!
DeleteI stayed with my daughter's father even though he was abusive. He was my first true love though and I thought he would change. After 16 years of trying it was obvious he never would. We no longer speak at all but I think deep down I still love him.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great giveaway,
Marlena
charmedpoms(at)yahoo(dot)com
I am sure that somewhere you do love that part of him that has good in it. THe other parts are too dangerous though.
